Głos
newspaper redesign proposal

Głos Ludu (People's Voice) is newspaper published by polish minority in the Czech republic. In its 60 year history design of the newspaper changed many times, mostly for worse rather than better. In recent years, however, situation got to the point when taking action was necessary and as a proud member of that minority I had no choice but to try to do something about it.

So I proposed this rather simplistic design with clear structure and more generous space for photographs, together with tailored to measure typeface that would meet the needs of typesetting in Polish and Czech and give the newspaper bit of an identity. And cut out the problematic term "Ludu" from the title.

Needless to say the project didn't meet with much understanding among editorial staff.
