SĽUK
visual identity
in coordination with Calder Design Community

Slovak National Dance Company (SĽUK) is one of the most well known ensembles interpreting Slovak folk dances and other elements of traditional folk culture. In recent years their production moved more towards contemporary dramatic forms what went hand by hand with need for more contemporary visual communication too.

The new identity tries to follow same path as the ensemble's repertoire – a contemporary interpretation of slovak folk traditions. It's based on slovak national colors, logo that's refreshed version of original logo designed by Martin Benka in 1950's, display typeface Veselica rooted in slovak folk typography and set of simplified ornaments.
